Found in the January 2009 issue of Remodeling magazine (p. 47), there are some important dates to remember regarding remodeling in homes built prior to 1978.

April 22, 2008: Rule enacted
Dec. 22, 2008: Remodelers are required to distribute “Renovate Right” pamphlet to homeowners and facilities
April 22, 2009: Certified Renovator training program begins
Oct 22, 2009: Contractors may begin applying to become certified firms
April 22, 2010: Full implementation of the Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule
