Leveraging relationships

In today’s fast-paced world, it is important to create and maintain important relationships. Recently, NARI (The National Association of the Remodeling Industry) has created a partnership with CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association), and our chapter was pleased to have our meeting this month at the CEDIA headquarters here in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The facility has many great uses as well as being a wonderful showcase for many of the electronic options that are available for today’s home. Most importantly, is the people that are on staff. The information that they have and shared with us is phenomenal.

As I walked away, I was once again impressed with the importance of having relationships built. Earlier I mentioned a fast-paced world. I refer specifically to the area of technology. Here’s some stats I learned today. The new technology called “Radio” took almost 40 years to have 50 million users. “Television” gained 50 million users within 13 years. This “social media” thing that we call Facebook took 2 years to register 50 million users, and the Microsoft “Kinect” had 50 million users in 6 days!

With technology changing so quickly, and adding so many options now, it is important to keep someone close by who can provide a system that will perform as needed, easily, and comfortably, with the option of growing if necessary.

A few bits of advice gained at today’s meeting:

Planning is critical to implementing technology solutions
Get professional help
Security is important, get professional help
Options are out there,
Did I mention, get professional help?
